Our Take

Ah, the Tanda Tula Choir, a group whose harmonies are as tight as their fashion sense is questionable. Their latest album is a rollercoaster of emotions, from elation to confusion (mostly confusion). The opening track, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", is a bold choice, but sadly falls flat due to the lead singer's questionable interpretation of a lion's roar.

Moving on to "Africa", their rendition of the classic Toto hit is... interesting, to say the least. The choir's attempt to imitate a rainstorm with their vocal harmonies is admirable, but ultimately falls short, leaving the listener feeling more damp than thrilled.

Despite its missteps, the album does have its moments of brilliance. The acapella cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody" showcases the choir's impressive vocal range and control, proving that when they stick to the basics, they really shine.

Overall, the Tanda Tula Choir's latest offering is a mixed bag. While it may not be the next big thing in choral music, it certainly has its charm and moments of pure joy. So, pop on your headphones, pour yourself a glass of wine, and give it a listen. Just don't expect to be blown away.
