Our Take
Ah, Fall Out Boy, with their catchy hooks and emo anthems - a band that divides opinion like Marmite (but let's be real, who even likes Marmite?). Take This To Your Grave, their debut album, now available on black ice vinyl, is a trip down memory lane for all you mid-2000s emo kids out there. From the opening track "Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today" to the closer "The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes," Fall Out Boy delivers raw energy and angst that will have you moshing in your bedroom like it's 2003 (and let's face it, we could all do with a bit of that right now). The production on this record is a bit rough around the edges, but that only adds to its charm - it's like finding a vintage pair of skinny jeans in a charity shop and realising they still fit like a glove. Tracks like "Saturday" and "Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy" showcase the band's knack for infectious melodies and heart-on-sleeve lyrics that will have you singing along even if you're not entirely sure what a "sugar, we're going down" means.
