Our Take
Our Take
Alright, dear readers, buckle up because we've got a wild ride ahead with the legendary Dick Dale's "Surfer's Choice" album. This is the kind of music that screams sun, surf, and beach parties all night long.
From the moment the needle hits the groove, you're transported to a world of crashing waves and classic surf rock vibes. The guitar riffs are as sharp as a shark's tooth, and Dale's infectious energy is enough to make even the most landlocked listener dream of riding the biggest wave.
Tracks like "Miserlou" and "Death of a Gremmie" are pure adrenaline-pumping bangers that will have you reaching for your board faster than you can say "cowabunga." Dale's mastery of the guitar is on full display here, with fingers flying up and down the fretboard like a pro surfer catching the perfect wave.
But don't be fooled by the sun-soaked melodies - there's a dark, brooding undertone to Dale's music that gives it an edge unlike anything else in the surf rock genre. It's as if he's inviting you to dance on the edge of a wave, daring you to ride it all the way to the shore.
So grab your board, grab a cocktail, and let Dick Dale take you on a wild ride with "Surfer's Choice." It's a musical journey that will leave you breathless and wanting more. Trust us, this one's a must-listen for any music lover looking for a taste of the wild side.

About the artist
Dick Dale and His Del-Tones
Dick Dale, the King of the Surf Guitar, is a true legend in the world of music. With his fast-paced, reverb-soaked sound, Dale revolutionized the surf rock genre and influenced countless artists that came after him. Born Richard Monsour in 1937, Dale grew up in Massachusetts before moving to California, where he fully embraced the surf culture and sound that would define his career. His signature style of playing the guitar at lightning speed, coupled with his wild stage presence, made him a force to be reckoned with in the 1960s music scene. Dale's most famous song, "Misirlou," gained renewed popularity in the 1990s when it was featured in Quentin Tarantino's cult classic film "Pulp Fiction." The track's infectious energy and Dale's virtuosic guitar playing helped introduce a new generation to his music and solidified his status as a music icon. Despite facing health struggles in his later years, including battles with cancer and diabetes, Dale continued to perform and record music up until his passing in 2019. His dedication to his craft and his relentless energy on stage made him a beloved figure in the music world, and his influence can still be felt in the surf rock and garage rock scenes today. Dick Dale may have ridden his final wave, but his music lives on, inspiring countless musicians to pick up a guitar and shred with the same passion and intensity that he brought to every performance. Rest in peace, Surf Guitar King.
