Our Take

Supergrass, the beloved Britpop band from the '90s, have returned with their latest album "Supergrassin." And let me tell you, it's a bloody corker.

From the moment the opening track kicks in, you're transported back to the days of Blur and Oasis, with a modern twist that only Supergrass can deliver. The energy and enthusiasm that made them famous in the first place is still very much alive in this album.

Lead singer Gaz Coombes' distinctive vocals soar over the catchy hooks and infectious melodies, making each song a joy to listen to. Whether it's the anthemic "Alright" or the groovy "Pumping on Your Stereo," there's something for everyone on this record.

The band's chemistry and tight musicianship shine through on every track, with each member bringing their A-game to the table. The production is top-notch, with every instrument crisp and clear in the mix.

"Supergrassin" is a testament to the band's longevity and ability to stay relevant in today's music scene. It's a testament to their staying power and their ability to keep churning out great tunes after all these years.

So put on your best parka, grab a pint, and crank up "Supergrassin." You won't be disappointed. Cheers to Supergrass for delivering another stellar album.

About the artist

Supergrass

Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your Union Jack hats because we're about to dive headfirst into the wondrous world of Supergrass. Hailing from Oxford, these cheeky chaps burst onto the Britpop scene in the mid-90s with their infectious blend of catchy hooks and boundless energy. Fronted by the charismatic Gaz Coombes, Supergrass quickly became darlings of the music press, earning comparisons to the likes of The Beatles and The Kinks. But don't be fooled by their sunny sound - underneath the jangly guitars and sing-along choruses lies a subversive wit and biting commentary on modern life. With hits like "Alright" and "Pumping on Your Stereo," Supergrass established themselves as one of the most exciting bands of their generation. Their live shows were legendary, with Gaz's acrobatic stage antics and Mick Quinn's thunderous bass lines keeping audiences on their toes. But Supergrass were never content to rest on their laurels. With each album, they pushed boundaries and experimented with new sounds, from the psychedelic swirl of "In It for the Money" to the punk-influenced swagger of "Diamond Hoo Ha." Sadly, in 2010, Supergrass announced their split, leaving fans mourning the end of an era. But fear not, dear reader, for the spirit of Supergrass lives on in their timeless music. So grab a pint, put on your dancing shoes, and join us as we celebrate the enduring legacy of these indie rock icons. Supergrass may be gone, but their music will always be, well, alright.
