Our Take
Living Gate's latest offering, "Suffer As One," is a rollercoaster ride of riffs, growls, and more riffs. This supergroup, featuring members of Yob, Misery Index, and more, has created a monstrous record that will leave you headbanging until your neck gives out. From the moment the album kicks off with the ferocious opener "Deathlust," you know you're in for a wild ride. The guitars are thick and crunchy, the drums are thunderous, and the vocals are downright demonic. It's like being trapped in a hellscape made entirely of distortion pedals. But don't be fooled by all the aggression - there's plenty of nuance to be found here too. Tracks like "Heaven Ablaze" and "The Delusion of Consciousness" showcase the band's ability to weave melody and atmosphere into their brutal sound. It's a delicate balance, but Living Gate pulls it off with style. If you're a fan of extreme music that pushes the boundaries of heaviness, then "Suffer As One" is a must-listen. Just be prepared to emerge from the experience feeling like you've been pummelled by a wall of sound. In the best possible way, of course.
