Our Take
Our Take
ENEMY's "Streets in the Sky" is a rollercoaster of a ride that's as thrilling as it is bumpy. The British rock band's third studio album is a mishmash of gritty guitars, anthemic choruses, and a whole lot of attitude - but does it hit all the right notes, or does it fall flat on its face? Let's dive in and find out.
From the get-go, "Streets in the Sky" grabs you by the collar and doesn't let go. Tracks like "Gimme the Sign" and "Come Alive" are brash and bold, with frontman Tom Clarke's raspy vocals cutting through the noise like a knife through butter. The band's signature blend of punk and indie rock is on full display here, and it's a formula that's served them well in the past.
However, as the album progresses, cracks begin to show. The production feels a bit rough around the edges, with some tracks lacking the polish and sheen of their predecessors. And while there are definitely some standout moments - the infectious "Like a Dancer" comes to mind - there are also a few forgettable tracks that fail to leave a lasting impression.
Overall, "Streets in the Sky" is a solid effort from ENEMY, but it's not without its flaws. Fans of the band will find plenty to enjoy here, but those looking for a groundbreaking new sound may come away feeling a bit underwhelmed. Strap in and enjoy the ride, but keep your expectations in check.
