Our Take

Ah, the compilation album - a true mixed bag of musical delights that can either soar to great heights or crash and burn faster than you can say "skip track". In the case of VARIOUS ARTISTS' latest offering, 'Storsequenzin', it's safe to say that we're in for a wild ride.

From the get-go, it's clear that this album doesn't take itself too seriously - and why should it? With tracks ranging from psychedelic funk to dreamy synth-pop, there's definitely something for everyone here. The standout track, "Groove Machine", sees an unlikely collaboration between a washed-up rockstar and a plucky new DJ, resulting in a certified banger that'll have you dancing in your living room (or kitchen, we don't judge).

However, not every track hits the mark. "Soggy Biscuit Blues" feels like a failed attempt at bringing back 70s disco, while "Bubblegum Dreams" sounds like a rejected Eurovision entry from the 90s. But hey, you win some, you lose some.

All in all, 'Storsequenzin' may not be the album of the year, but it's definitely worth a listen if you're in the mood for some light-hearted fun. Just don't expect to find the next big chart-topper here - unless, of course, you're into that sort of thing.
