Our Take
Look, we all know Rush is a legendary band, but let's take a little detour to check out the Stockholm Monsters' self-titled album. Hailing from Manchester in the early 80s, these lads brought a unique blend of post-punk and new wave to the table. Opening track "Fairy Tales" sets the stage with its dreamy melodies and haunting vocals that will have you hooked from the get-go. The band doesn't shy away from experimenting with different sounds, as seen in the funky basslines of "All at Once" and the moody synths of "E. St. A." But where the Stockholm Monsters truly shine is in their ability to create tracks that are both danceable and introspective. "Miss Moonlight" is a prime example, with its infectious beat and introspective lyrics that will have you tapping your feet while contemplating the meaning of life. Overall, this album is a hidden gem that deserves a spot in your music collection. So do yourself a favor and give the Stockholm Monsters a listen.
