Our Take

Ah, the once fresh-faced heartthrobs of the '80s are back with their latest release, "Still Kids." New Kids on the Block, or NKOTB for those in the know, have managed to defy the laws of aging and continue to churn out sugary pop tunes that harken back to their heyday.

The album kicks off with the infectious track "Forever Young," reminding us all that age is just a number. The cheesy lyrics and catchy hooks are a trademark of NKOTB's sound, and they certainly deliver on that front. However, it's hard not to feel a twinge of nostalgia for the days when these boys ruled the charts.

As the album progresses, songs like "Old Dogs, New Tricks" and "Reunion Tour" showcase the group's self-awareness and ability to poke fun at themselves. The production is slick, the harmonies are tight, and the energy is infectious. It's clear that NKOTB are still having a blast making music together.

While "Still Kids" may not reinvent the wheel, it's a solid offering from a group that knows their audience. Fans of the New Kids will no doubt eat this up, while others may find it a bit too "dad rock" for their tastes. But hey, who doesn't love a bit of nostalgia every now and then? So grab your scrunchies and your neon leggings, because New Kids on the Block are back and they're still kids at heart.
