Our Take
With nearly 40 years of punk rock under their belt, Stiff Little Fingers have been delivering blistering tracks and rebellious anthems since the late '70s. But don't think for a second that these Belfast lads have mellowed out with age. Their latest album, "Still Kicking," proves that these punk pioneers are just as feisty and energetic as ever. From the first track, "Rebel Without a Pause," it's clear that Stiff Little Fingers are still full of piss and vinegar. The guitars are cranked up to 11, the drums are pounding, and frontman Jake Burns' vocals are as urgent and impassioned as ever. This is not a band content to rest on their laurels - they're still out to shake things up and speak truth to power. Tracks like "Punk Rock Heart" and "The Kids Are Alright" showcase the band's knack for crafting catchy, rebellious tunes that will have you pogo-ing in no time. And the raw, visceral energy of songs like "Never Say Die" and "Riot Squad" remind us why Stiff Little Fingers are bona fide punk legends.
