Our Take
As I popped the latest offering from Boxcar Preachers into my vintage record player, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. The album, titled "Spindletop Strike!", promised to be a wild and raucous ride - and boy, did it deliver. From the opening track, "Oil Barrel Blues", it was clear that Boxcar Preachers were not messing around. The gritty vocals, twangy guitars, and pounding drums came together to create a sound that was both familiar and utterly unique. It's like if Johnny Cash and The Clash had a lovechild, and that lovechild started a band in a dusty Texas bar.
