Our Take
Ah, the grandiose extravaganza that was Yes at Spectrum Theatre, Philadelphia on 12th July 1991. This British prog rock band once again showed why they are legends in the music industry, delivering a performance that was nothing short of mesmerising. From the moment they took the stage, decked out in their signature 70s attire, it was clear that Yes were here to take us on a musical journey like no other. The intricate guitar riffs, soaring vocal harmonies, and complex time signatures had the audience in awe from start to finish. Lead vocalist Jon Anderson's hauntingly beautiful voice filled the venue, transporting us to another dimension, while guitarist Trevor Rabin shredded his way through epic solos that left us breathless. The rhythm section, comprised of bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White, held everything together with precision and finesse. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the performance of their magnum opus "Close to the Edge", a 20-minute epic that had the crowd on their feet and cheering for more. The band's energy and passion were infectious, and it was clear that they were having just as much fun on stage as we were in the audience.
