Our Take

Leading Ladies' debut album, "Songs From The Stage," is a rollercoaster of musical highs and lows that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about show tunes. This trio of leading ladies, Amber Riley, Beverley Knight, and Cassidy Janson, have managed to breathe new life into the classics, while also delivering some surprising twists and turns along the way.

From the opening track, "One Night Only," it's clear that these ladies are here to slay. Their powerhouse vocals and undeniable chemistry make for a truly captivating listening experience. But don't be fooled by their impressive vocal acrobatics, because Leading Ladies know how to bring the emotion too. Tracks like "Memory" and "I'm Every Woman" are delivered with such raw emotion that you can't help but be moved.

However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows on this album. While the ladies' vocal abilities are undeniable, some of the song choices leave a little to be desired. The inclusion of "Don't Rain on My Parade" feels a bit cliché, and the rendition of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" lacks the raw power of the original.
