Simon Raymonde, the enigmatic frontman of the iconic band Cocteau Twins turned music producer extraordinaire, is a man of many talents and even more eccentricities. With a career spanning over three decades, Raymonde has left an indelible mark on the music industry with his unique blend of ethereal dream pop and experimental electronica. Born and bred in London, Raymonde cut his teeth in the music business at an early age, thanks to his father, the renowned music arranger and producer, Ivor Raymonde. It was no surprise then, that Simon would follow in his father's footsteps and make a name for himself in the world of music. After joining Cocteau Twins in 1983, Raymonde quickly established himself as a key member of the band, contributing not only his ethereal bass lines and haunting backing vocals but also his distinctive songwriting skills. The band's unique sound, characterised by their ethereal melodies and Elizabeth Fraser's otherworldly vocals, captivated audiences around the world, earning them a cult following. In the late 90s, Raymonde branched out on his own, founding the record label Bella Union, which has since become a breeding ground for some of the most exciting and innovative artists in the industry.
