Our Take
Megadeth's "So Far, So Good... So What!" is a cacophonous whirlwind of thrash metal madness that leaves listeners both exhilarated and exhausted. From the opening track "Into the Lungs of Hell" to the closing notes of "My Last Words," Dave Mustaine and company take listeners on a wild ride through frenetic riffs, blazing solos, and thunderous drumming. While not as polished as some of their later albums, "So Far, So Good... So What!" captures the raw energy and aggression that put Megadeth on the map in the first place. Tracks like "In My Darkest Hour" and "Set the World Afire" showcase the band's technical prowess and songwriting chops, while "Mary Jane" offers a glimpse into the band's more experimental side. However, the album is not without its faults. Some songs feel a bit rushed, and the production can be a bit muddy at times. Overall, "So Far, So Good... So What!" is a must-listen for any fan of thrash metal or heavy music in general. It may not be Megadeth's most polished album, but it's certainly one of their most intense and exciting.
