Our Take

Rocket Science Snake's latest album "Slippery Scales" is a wild, unpredictable ride through the depths of musical experimentation. From the moment you press play, you're thrown into a whirlwind of psychedelic sounds and off-kilter rhythms that will leave you scratching your head in bewilderment. Lead singer, Slimy Steve, wails and croons his way through each track with a fervour that is both captivating and slightly unsettling. His voice veers from a haunting whisper to a full-throated scream, keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering what comes next. The instrumentation on "Slippery Scales" is equally bizarre, with the band incorporating everything from synths to saxophones to create a cacophony of sound that is both mesmerizing and chaotic. At times, it feels like they're throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the mix, but somehow it all comes together in a strangely cohesive way. Standout tracks like "Serpentine Serenade" and "Venomous Vortex" showcase Rocket Science Snake at their most unhinged and brilliant, with each member of the band pushing themselves to their creative limits.
