Our Take
Ah, Mans Gin, the band name alone evokes images of a rowdy pub night with pints sloshing and laughter ringing out. Their latest album, "Smiling Dogs," is a raucous romp through the highs and lows of life, love, and everything in between. From the opening track, "Pint in Hand," it's clear that Mans Gin is not here to play it safe. The gritty vocals of frontman Dan O'Brien are like a punch to the gut, raw and unapologetic. The band's blend of folk, punk, and blues creates a sound that is as unique as it is infectious. Songs like "Lonely Whiskey" and "Broken Hearts Club" showcase Mans Gin's ability to craft catchy hooks with lyrics that cut straight to the heart.
