If Pitchfork Magazine had a lovechild with Monty Python, it would sound a lot like Smith & McClennan's latest offering, "Small Town Stories." This album is a delightful mix of whimsical storytelling and infectious melodies that will have you tapping your toes and laughing out loud in equal measure.
From the opening track, "Biscuit Tin," with its jaunty acoustic guitar and witty lyrics about lost love and forgotten snacks, to the closing ballad, "Rainy Day Blues," where Smith & McClellan harmonize like a pair of lovestruck swans, this album is a rollercoaster of emotions and musical styles.
