Genesis - Six Sides Live, Vol. 2 Genesis, the band that just won't quit, has dropped a hefty live album that is sure to delight die-hard fans and confuse the hell out of casual listeners. Six Sides Live, Vol. 2, is a wild ride through the band's extensive catalogue, showcasing their evolution from prog-rock pioneers to pop superstars. The first side kicks off with a bang, as Peter Gabriel's theatrical vocals soar over the intricate guitar work of Steve Hackett. But just when you think you've got them figured out, the band shifts gears and dives into their pop era, with hits like "Invisible Touch" and "Land of Confusion" getting the crowd going. However, things take a turn for the weird on side three, as Genesis indulges in some truly questionable covers. Do we really need to hear Phil Collins crooning his way through "You Can't Hurry Love" when we could be listening to their own brilliant original material? The answer is a resounding no. By the time we get to side six, it's clear that Genesis is a band that defies categorisation. Are they prog rock? Pop? Dad rock? Who knows. All we can say for certain is that this album is a testament to their enduring talent and ability to keep us guessing. Love them or hate them, you can't deny that Genesis is a force to be reckoned with.
