Our Take

Silver Synthetic's self-titled debut album is a dazzling display of shimmering synths and infectious grooves that harken back to the glory days of glam rock. The Birmingham-based band may not reinvent the wheel with their retro-inspired sound, but what they lack in originality, they make up for in sheer exuberance and charm.

From the moment the opening track "In the Beginning" kicks in, you can't help but be swept up in Silver Synthetic's infectious energy. The soaring vocals of lead singer Pete Campanelli are a standout feature, evoking shades of Marc Bolan and David Bowie at their most flamboyant. Tracks like "Out of the Darkness" and "Unchain Your Heart" are instant earworms, guaranteed to have you dancing around your living room in no time.

However, not every song on the album hits the mark. The middle section does tend to drag a bit, with tracks like "Silver Moon" and "Endless Night" feeling a tad repetitive and uninspired.
