Our Take

Indulge in a bit of musical time travel with the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Starsailor's "Silence Is Easy." This album takes us back to a simpler time when boy bands roamed the earth and skinny jeans were all the rage.

Starsailor, the band that brought us classics like "Good Souls" and "Four to the Floor," have remastered and re-released their sophomore album, complete with bonus tracks and b-sides for your listening pleasure.

The album kicks off with the titular track "Silence Is Easy," a catchy tune that will have you tapping your feet in no time. Lead singer James Walsh's vocals are as soulful and haunting as ever, transporting you to a world where heartbreak and redemption go hand in hand.

As you delve deeper into the album, you'll find gems like "Shark Food" and "White Dove," each one a testament to Starsailor's ability to blend melancholy with melody. The Deluxe Edition also includes live recordings and acoustic versions, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the band's creative process.

So sit back, relax, and let Starsailor take you on a musical journey through the highs and lows of life. "Silence Is Easy" may be 20 years old, but its message of hope and resilience is timeless. *insert quirky rating out of 10 here*

About the artist

Starsailor

INTRO: Ah, Starsailor. The surprisingly overlooked gem of the early 2000s British music scene. With their distinct blend of indie rock and Britpop, this band has been causing waves (albeit small ones) for over two decades now. BODY: Formed in Wigan in 2000, Starsailor quickly rose to fame with their debut album "Love is Here" in 2001. Fronted by the hauntingly emotive vocals of James Walsh, the band's melancholic yet catchy tunes struck a chord with angsty adolescents everywhere. Tracks like "Good Souls" and "Silence is Easy" became anthems for the misunderstood and lovelorn. Despite not achieving the same level of mainstream success as some of their contemporaries, such as Coldplay or Keane, Starsailor has managed to maintain a dedicated fanbase and a reputation for heartfelt songwriting and stirring live performances. Their sound may not be groundbreaking, but it's certainly effective. Yet, Starsailor has not been without their pitfalls. The band went on hiatus in 2009, only to reunite in 2014 with a new album, "All This Life," which failed to capture the same magic as their earlier work. Perhaps they were victims of their own nostalgia, or maybe they just needed a bit more time to find their footing again. OUTRO: In a world of ever-changing trends and fleeting fame, Starsailor remains a constant, like that old jumper you just can't seem to throw away. They may not be at the forefront of the music scene anymore, but their music still holds a special place in the hearts of those who appreciate good old-fashioned indie rock. And for that, we salute them.
