Our Take
Our Take
STARSAILOR returns with a reissue of their classic album "Silence Is Easy" in a shiny turquoise vinyl, because nothing says 'nostalgia' like a colour straight out of a 90s prom dress.
The band's signature blend of melancholic melodies and soaring vocals proves that sometimes, the best way to drown out the chaos of life is with a good old-fashioned ballad. It's the musical equivalent of a warm hug on a rainy day - comforting, if a tad predictable.
Lead singer James Walsh's voice remains as hauntingly charming as ever, guiding listeners through tales of heartbreak and redemption with the grace of a seasoned troubadour. The production is crisp and polished, enhancing the emotional depth of each track without overpowering the raw vulnerability at its core.
While the 20th anniversary edition offers little in terms of new content, the nostalgic glow of the reissue is sure to tug at the heartstrings of long-time fans. It's like revisiting an old journal from your angsty teenage years - a little cringeworthy, but undeniably cathartic.
In conclusion, "Silence Is Easy" may not reinvent the wheel, but it serves as a gentle reminder of the power of simplicity in a world constantly craving novelty. So sit back, relax, and let STARSAILOR's soothing harmonies wash over you like a warm bath after a long day. It may not change your life, but it'll certainly make it a little bit sweeter.

About the artist
Starsailor
INTRO: Ah, Starsailor. The surprisingly overlooked gem of the early 2000s British music scene. With their distinct blend of indie rock and Britpop, this band has been causing waves (albeit small ones) for over two decades now. BODY: Formed in Wigan in 2000, Starsailor quickly rose to fame with their debut album "Love is Here" in 2001. Fronted by the hauntingly emotive vocals of James Walsh, the band's melancholic yet catchy tunes struck a chord with angsty adolescents everywhere. Tracks like "Good Souls" and "Silence is Easy" became anthems for the misunderstood and lovelorn. Despite not achieving the same level of mainstream success as some of their contemporaries, such as Coldplay or Keane, Starsailor has managed to maintain a dedicated fanbase and a reputation for heartfelt songwriting and stirring live performances. Their sound may not be groundbreaking, but it's certainly effective. Yet, Starsailor has not been without their pitfalls. The band went on hiatus in 2009, only to reunite in 2014 with a new album, "All This Life," which failed to capture the same magic as their earlier work. Perhaps they were victims of their own nostalgia, or maybe they just needed a bit more time to find their footing again. OUTRO: In a world of ever-changing trends and fleeting fame, Starsailor remains a constant, like that old jumper you just can't seem to throw away. They may not be at the forefront of the music scene anymore, but their music still holds a special place in the hearts of those who appreciate good old-fashioned indie rock. And for that, we salute them.
