Our Take
Spider King's "Shot to Pieces" is a rollercoaster of an album that will leave you breathless and wanting more. With influences ranging from 80s hair metal to 90s grunge, this band manages to create a unique sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. The opening track, "Black Widow's Bite," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its dirty riffs and powerful vocals. It's hard not to headbang along to this one. Throughout the album, Spider King showcases their versatility with tracks like "Web of Lies," a haunting ballad that shows off their softer side, and "Arachnophobia," a thrash metal masterpiece that will have you jumping around the room. Lead singer, Venomous Vixen, delivers each lyric with passion and conviction, and the rest of the band holds their own with killer guitar solos and thunderous drumming. However, "Shot to Pieces" is not without its flaws. Some tracks feel a bit disjointed and lack the cohesion that the band clearly has the potential to achieve. Overall, Spider King's "Shot to Pieces" is a solid effort from a band that knows how to rock. It may not be perfect, but it's definitely worth a listen for any fan of hard-hitting, no-nonsense rock music.
