Lily Allen's long-awaited return to the music scene with "Sheezus" is a mix of brilliant pop satire and cringe-worthy attempts at staying relevant. The title track, "Sheezus," sets the tone with its over-the-top braggadocious lyrics poking fun at the male-dominated rap scene. Allen's witty and sharp-tongued delivery shines through on tracks like "Hard Out Here" and "Air Balloon," where she cleverly tackles issues of sexism and media scrutiny. However, the album takes a sharp nosedive with tracks like "URL Badman" and "L8 CMMR," where Allen's attempts at edgy humour fall flat. The overproduced pop beats and lacklustre lyrics make these songs feel like filler material on an otherwise promising album. The standout track, "Life for Me," showcases Allen's vulnerability and storytelling skills as she reflects on her journey in the music industry.
