Lacuna Coil's "Shallow Life" is like a rollercoaster of emotions - if that rollercoaster was stuck in traffic and going at snail's pace. The Italian metal band's seventh studio album is a mixed bag of heavy riffs, haunting vocals, and lyrics that make you question if they were written by a teenager in the midst of a breakup.
From the opening track "Survive" to the closing ballad "Wide Awake", Lacuna Coil take listeners on a journey through the highs and lows of love and loss. The standout tracks like "I Won't Tell You" and "The Maze" showcase the band's ability to seamlessly blend gothic melodies with blistering guitar solos, creating a sound that is both unique and captivating.
However, not all is sunshine and rainbows in the world of Lacuna Coil.
