It's as if SAVAK decided to throw a punk rock party, but forgot to invite the fun. "Rotting Teeth In The Horses Mouth" is a relentless assault of noise and distortion that will leave your ears ringing and your head spinning.
From the blistering opener "Dead Dick" to the frantic closer "They Are Always Watching," SAVAK never lets up, delivering jagged riffs and pounding drums with unrelenting intensity. But for all its energy and aggression, the album lacks the hooks and melodies to really grab hold of you.
Tracks like "Door Deals & Debt" and "Listening" feel like they're on the verge of breaking through, but never quite manage to reach the heights they're aiming for. And while the band's commitment to their sound is admirable, it can also be a bit exhausting, with songs blending together into one noisy blur.
Overall, "Rotting Teeth In The Horses Mouth" is a mixed bag – a wild, chaotic ride that never quite manages to find its footing. SAVAK are clearly talented musicians with a lot to say, but they could benefit from a little more focus and restraint.
