Various Artists - Romantic 7080 Radio Age If I had a pound for every nostalgic 80s and 70s compilation album that's released each year, I'd probably have enough money to start my own record label. But there's something about Romantic 7080 Radio Age that sets it apart from the rest. Maybe it's the cheesy album cover featuring a love-struck couple gazing into each other's eyes over a sunset backdrop. Or maybe it's the fact that half the tracks on here were actually big hits back in the day The album kicks off with ABBA's "Dancing Queen," setting the tone for a collection of feel-good classics that'll have you dusting off your old boogie shoes in no time. From Lionel Richie's smooth crooning on "Hello" to Whitney Houston's powerhouse vocals on "I Will Always Love You," there's something for everyone on this record. But it's not all sunshine and rainbows here. The inclusion of a questionable cover of "Careless Whisper" by a no-name lounge singer leaves a sour taste in my mouth. And don't even get me started on the unnecessary remix of "Take On Me" that sounds like it was done on a Casio keyboard by a tone-deaf five-year-old.
