Just when you thought Wagner couldn't get any more epic, along comes NEUMANN / WEINSCHENK / WEGNER / NEUHOLD to turn up the volume to eleven. The German quartet has taken on the formidable task of tackling Wagner's Siegfried, and the results are nothing short of extraordinary.
From the thunderous opening notes of "Siegfried's Horn Call" to the haunting beauty of "Forest Murmurs," NEUMANN / WEINSCHENK / WEGNER / NEUHOLD effortlessly capture the essence of Wagner's masterpiece. Each member of the quartet brings their own unique flair to the table, from Neumann's blistering guitar solos to Neuhld's soulful vocals.
The standout track has to be "Siegfried's Funeral March," a sprawling epic that clocks in at over twenty minutes long. The sheer scale of the piece is staggering, with Neumann's guitar work reaching dizzying heights of virtuosity.
Overall, NEUMANN / WEINSCHENK / WEGNER / NEUHOLD's interpretation of Siegfried is a triumph of ambition and talent. Wagner purists may balk at the liberties taken with the source material, but for those willing to go on a musical journey, this album is a must-listen.
