Album Review: Pentagram - Self-Titled Rating: 7.8/10 Pentagram, the doom metal underground legends, have returned with their self-titled album, and let me tell you, it's a hellish ride through the depths of riff-filled madness. From the opening track, "Forever My Queen," it's clear that Pentagram have no intentions of holding back. The guitars scream, the drums pound, and Bobby Liebling's vocals sound like a banshee on steroids. It's like being strapped to a rocket ship headed straight for the fiery pits of Hades. But don't let the ferocity fool you - there's a surprising amount of melody and groove lurking beneath the chaos. Tracks like "Be Forewarned" and "Sign of the Wolf (Pentagram)" showcase the band's ability to mix skull-crushing heaviness with catchy hooks that will have you headbanging in no time. However, the album does have its flaws. Some tracks feel a bit repetitive, and at times, the production can come off as muddy. But hey, we're talking about Pentagram here - they're not exactly known for their pristine sound quality. Overall, Pentagram's self-titled album is a grimy, sludgy, and utterly exhilarating journey through the darker realms of metal.
