Our Take

The year was 1999 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were bringing the heat to Moscow's Red Square in what can only be described as a steamy show for the ages. On August 14th, the legendary funk-rockers took to the stage in front of a rabid crowd, delivering a performance that was as blistering as the Russian summer sun.

From the moment frontman Anthony Kiedis strutted onto the stage, shirtless and full of swagger, it was clear that this was going to be a night to remember. The band tore through fan favourites like "Give It Away" and "Under the Bridge" with a ferocity and energy that could only come from years of honing their craft.

But it wasn't just the hits that made this show special. The Chili Peppers also treated the audience to a handful of deep cuts and covers, showcasing their versatility and musical prowess. Flea's thunderous bass lines, John Frusciante's virtuosic guitar solos, and Chad Smith's powerhouse drumming all came together in a cacophony of sound that was nothing short of magical.

As the night drew to a close, the band bowed out with a rousing rendition of "Higher Ground", leaving the crowd begging for more. In the end, the Red Hot Chili Peppers proved once again why they are one of the most electrifying live acts in the world. If you missed out on this epic performance, fear not - just pop on their live album "Red Square. Moscow. August 14th. 1999" and prepare to be blown away.
