Our Take
Ah, Johnny Hallyday, the French Elvis Presley himself, or should we say Hally-duty? His recent album, "Recentissime!" is a rollicking romp through the classics, with a twist of his own unique flair. From the moment you press play, you're transported to a smoky Parisian bistro, with Hallyday crooning his heart out in that unmistakable gravelly voice. The instrumentation is top-notch, with jangly guitars, soaring strings, and catchy hooks that will have you tapping your foot in no time. Standout tracks include the infectious "C'est La Vie", a toe-tapping tune that will have you dancing around your living room, and the emotional ballad "Mon Coeur Est A Vous", which showcases Hallyday's vulnerable side.
