Our Take

King Kobra's "Ready to Strike" is like a blast from the past, but not in a good way. This album feels like a relic from a time when big hair, spandex, and power ballads ruled the airwaves. But hey, if you're into that sort of thing, then this might be right up your alley.

From the opening track "Ready to Strike," it's clear that King Kobra are not messing around. The guitars are loud, the vocals are melodramatic, and the lyrics are cheesy as hell. But somehow, it all works in a strange, nostalgic way.

Tracks like "Hunger" and "Tough Guys" bring the 80s hard rock vibes in full force, with catchy hooks and guitar solos that would make any hair metal fan proud. And let's not forget about the power ballad "Shadow Rider," which is sure to bring a tear to your eye (or at least a cringe to your face).

Overall, "Ready to Strike" is a fun, bombastic ride that will transport you back to a time when MTV still played music videos and hairspray was a necessity. So put on your leather pants, crank up the volume, and get ready to rock out like it's 1985. Just don't blame us if you start feeling the urge to tease your hair and break out the air guitar.
