Our Take
Our Take
TINA TURNER Queen Of Rock N Rollin is a sizzling hot mess of an album that has us both shaking our booties and scratching our heads in confusion. Turner's powerhouse vocals are as fierce as ever, but the production choices on this record leave much to be desired.
From the over-the-top synth breakdowns on "Simply the Best" to the bizarre reggae-infused cover of "Proud Mary," it's clear that someone was trying a little too hard to reinvent the wheel. And don't even get me started on the cheesy saxophone solos that pop up on nearly every track.
But despite its flaws, there's something undeniably fun about this album. Turner's charisma shines through, and her sheer determination to make us dance is infectious. Tracks like "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Private Dancer" are still bangers, even if they're buried under a mountain of questionable production choices.
In the end, TINA TURNER Queen Of Rock N Rollin is a mixed bag. It's a wild ride that will leave you scratching your head one minute and singing along the next. Is it a classic? Not quite. Is it a hot mess? Definitely. But one thing's for sure - Tina Turner will always be the Queen of Rock N Roll, no matter what.
