Our Take
Our Take
Deep Purple have been rocking for over 50 years, and with their 1996 album "Purpendicular," they prove they still have plenty of juice left in the tank. This album sees the band embracing a more experimental sound, blending their classic hard rock with elements of prog and even a touch of funk.
From the opening track "Vavoom: Ted the Mechanic," it's clear that Deep Purple are not content to rest on their laurels. The band's legendary guitarist Steve Morse shines throughout the album, delivering blistering solos that will leave you wondering how he can make a guitar sing like that.
But it's not just Morse who steals the show. Ian Gillan's vocals are as powerful as ever, and the rhythm section of Roger Glover and Ian Paice is tighter than ever. Tracks like "Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming" and "The Aviator" showcase the band's ability to write complex, dynamic songs that keep you on the edge of your seat.
"Purpendicular" may not be Deep Purple's most well-known album, but it's certainly one of their most adventurous. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual listener, this album is sure to leave you impressed. So grab your air guitar and get ready to rock out to some classic British rock 'n' roll with a twist. Deep Purple have done it again, and they show no signs of slowing down.
