Our Take

It's not often that an album comes along that leaves you scratching your head, tapping your feet, and wondering what on earth you just listened to. RUUTU POISS's latest offering, "Pull/Pushin", is just that kind of record.

From the opening track, we are swept up in a whirlwind of mismatched rhythms, off-kilter melodies, and cryptic lyrics that leave us simultaneously puzzled and enraptured. It's as if RUUTU POISS has taken a handful of musical genres, thrown them in a blender, and hit "puree."

The result is a sonic kaleidoscope that is equal parts exhilarating and maddening. One minute we're grooving along to a funky bassline, the next we're wading through a sea of dissonant chords and disorienting time signatures.

But amidst the chaos, there is a strange kind of beauty to be found in "Pull/Pushin". The album has a sense of whimsy and playfulness that is utterly infectious, drawing us in and refusing to let go. It's like being caught in a musical funhouse, where every twist and turn brings a new surprise.

In the end, "Pull/Pushin" is a challenging listen, to be sure. But for those willing to take the plunge, it offers a unique and thrilling journey through the wild and wacky world of RUUTU POISS. Love it or hate it, you won't soon forget it.
