Manchester-based post-punk quartet Ist Ist have returned with their latest album, "Protagonists," and it's safe to say that they have once again proven why they are considered one of the most exciting bands in the UK right now. From the moment the haunting opening track "Black" kicks in, you know you're in for a ride. The band's signature brooding basslines and atmospheric guitar work create a mesmerising backdrop for frontman Adam Houghton's moody vocals to take centre stage. Tracks such as "You're Mine" and "Pitfalls" showcase the band's ability to build tension and release it in the most satisfying way possible.
