Our Take

SKYCLAD's "Prince of the Poverty Line" is like a wild, drunken
pub session with your mates, but turned into music. The band
blends folk melodies with heavy metal riffs, creating a
unique sound that is impossible to resist.

From the opening track "Civil War Dance," it's clear that
SKYCLAD isn't your average metal band. The lyrics are
filled with wit and social commentary, delivered with
frontman Martin Walkyier's signature snarl. The band
tackles heavy subjects like poverty and class struggle, but
it never feels preachy or heavy-handed.

The musicianship on "Prince of the Poverty Line" is top-notch,
with catchy riffs and intricate folk melodies that will have
you dancing and headbanging in equal measure. The album
is a journey from start to finish, with each track offering
something new and exciting.

Highlights include the anthemic "Cardboard City" and the
haunting "The One Piece Puzzle." SKYCLAD's ability to
seamlessly blend genres and create something truly
original is a testament to their talent and creativity.

In a sea of cookie-cutter metal bands, SKYCLAD stands out
as a truly unique and innovative force. "Prince of the
Poverty Line" is a must-listen for any fan of music that
dares to push boundaries and defy expectations.
