Album Review: EXODUS - Persona Non Grata
In the dark, dingy world of heavy metal, EXODUS has always been a shining beacon of chaos. Their latest release, "Persona Non Grata", solidifies their status as thrash metal legends, but with a twist that is sure to leave fans scratching their heads in confusion.
The album kicks off with the blistering title track, setting the tone for what's to come - a whirlwind of face-melting riffs and pounding drums that will leave you gasping for air. Lead vocalist Steve Souza's signature snarl cuts through the noise like a chainsaw, while the guitar work of Gary Holt and Lee Altus keeps things moving at breakneck speed.
Tracks like "R.E.M.F." and "Slipping Into Madness" showcase EXODUS at their heaviest, channeling the raw energy of their early days with a modern twist. But it's the unexpected turns on songs like "The Years of Death and Dying" and "Cosa Del Pantano" that really set this album apart. Who knew thrash metal could be so...groovy?
"Persona Non Grata" is a rollercoaster of a record, full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It may not be as straightforward as some of EXODUS' earlier work, but it's a thrilling ride from start to finish. Strap in, hold on tight, and prepare to have your ears blown off.
