Our Take

Album Review: Ryan Hurd - 1

Ryan Hurd's debut album "1" is a rollercoaster ride through the world of modern country music, with a side of unexpected twists and turns along the way. Hurd, known for his songwriting chops for some of the biggest names in the industry, injects his own personality and charm into this collection of tracks.

From the opening track "Pass It On" to the closing ballad "Half Hoping," Hurd showcases his lyrical prowess and storytelling abilities. The catchy hooks and infectious melodies will have you tapping your toe and singing along in no time.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "To a T," a heartfelt ode to a loved one that showcases Hurd's vulnerable side. With its soaring chorus and heartfelt lyrics, this song is bound to become a fan favourite.

However, not all is sunshine and rainbows on "1." Some tracks fall flat and fail to leave a lasting impression. While Hurd's voice is undeniably smooth and soulful, some songs lack the punch and emotion needed to make them truly memorable.

Overall, "1" is a solid debut effort from Ryan Hurd, showcasing his potential as both a songwriter and performer. While it may not be groundbreaking, this album is sure to please fans of modern country music looking for a fresh new voice in the genre.雷Pitchfork Rating: 7.2/10.
