About the artist

Mission of Burma

Mission of Burma are the godfathers of post-punk, the OGs of indie rock, the legends who paved the way for countless bands to come. Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, this iconic quartet burst onto the scene in the early 1980s with their unique blend of noise, melody, and political activism. Formed by Roger Miller, Clint Conley, Peter Prescott, and Martin Swope, Mission of Burma's music is a sonic assault on the senses, blending blistering guitars, driving rhythms, and thought-provoking lyrics that challenge the status quo. From their seminal debut EP, "Signals, Calls, and Marches," to their critically acclaimed albums like "Vs." and "The Obliterati," Mission of Burma have consistently pushed the boundaries of what punk rock can be. Their live shows are a sight to behold, with Miller's frenetic guitar playing, Conley's thunderous bass lines, Prescott's powerhouse drumming, and Swope's avant-garde tape manipulations creating a wall of sound that is both chaotic and mesmerizing. Despite their tumultuous history - disbanding in 1983 due to Miller's struggle with tinnitus, only to reunite in 2002 to much fanfare - Mission of Burma have remained a vital force in the indie music scene, inspiring a new generation of musicians with their fearless creativity and uncompromising vision. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a newcomer to their music, Mission of Burma are a band that demands your attention. So crank up the volume, let the feedback wash over you, and immerse yourself in the sonic onslaught that is Mission of Burma.
