Our Take

Once in a while, an album comes along that makes you question everything you thought you knew about music. PARASITE's self-titled debut is one of those albums. At first glance, you might think this band is just another run-of-the-mill indie rock group trying to make it big. But oh, how wrong you would be.

From the moment the opening track kicks in, you are transported to a world where conventional song structures and chord progressions are thrown out the window in favour of chaos and unpredictability. The lead singer's vocals are like a mix of Björk and Thom Yorke, weaving in and out of the intricate instrumentals with ease.

One minute you're bopping your head to a catchy hook, the next you're being assaulted by a wall of noise that feels like a sonic punch to the face. But somehow, it all works. The band manages to strike a delicate balance between madness and melody, creating a sound that is as exhilarating as it is exhausting.

PARASITE is not an easy listen, that's for sure. But if you're willing to dive headfirst into the swirling maelstrom of sound that this album has to offer, you'll be rewarded with a musical experience like no other. In a world where so much music feels safe and formulaic, it's refreshing to come across a band that isn't afraid to take risks and push the boundaries of what is possible. So strap in, dear reader, and prepare yourself for a wild ride with PARASITE.

About the artist

Parasite

Introducing PARASITE: the enigmatic duo sweeping through the music scene with their infectious blend of synth-pop and darkwave. Hailing from the gritty streets of East London, these two self-proclaimed "musical parasites" have managed to worm their way into the hearts of fans worldwide. PARASITE's sound is a deliciously twisted mix of pulsating beats, haunting melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics. Their songs are like a sonic parasite, burrowing deep into your subconscious and refusing to let go. With influences ranging from Depeche Mode to The Knife, PARASITE have managed to carve out their own unique niche in the music world. But it's not just their music that sets PARASITE apart – it's their larger-than-life personalities and devil-may-care attitude that have made them darlings of the indie music scene. From their outlandish fashion choices to their wild antics on stage, PARASITE are a band that is impossible to ignore. I first stumbled upon PARASITE at a dingy dive bar in Shoreditch, and I was immediately captivated by their raw energy and infectious charisma. Since then, I've had the pleasure of witnessing their meteoric rise to fame, from intimate gigs in sweaty underground venues to headlining slots at major music festivals. PARASITE are not just a band – they're a force of nature. With their hypnotic sound and magnetic stage presence, they are sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to experience them live. Keep an eye out for PARASITE, because these musical parasites are here to stay.
