Our Take
Cadallaca's Out West album is a delightful mix of sugar and spice, with a sprinkle of nostalgia that will have you feeling like you just stepped out of a 90s high school movie. The trio, consisting of Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker, Sarah Dougher, and sts, delivers a unique blend of punk rock, country twang, and bubblegum pop that is as surprising as it is infectious. From the opening track "Conway" with its catchy guitar riffs and playful lyrics, to the closing ballad "O Ana", which showcases Tucker's powerful vocals, Cadallaca takes you on a wild ride through the Wild West of their musical imagination. The standout track "Sitting on the Bride" is a toe-tapping ode to lost love, while "Your One Wish" is a sweet, dreamy ballad that will have you swaying along in no time. While Out West may not be the most groundbreaking album of the year, it's certainly a fun and entertaining listen that will leave you with a smile on your face.
