The latest offering from the avant-garde trio of LAZAR, BOLTON, and PERROT, who clearly have no regard for traditional notions of melody or harmony. Dufaut / Ste / Colombe / Playford / Hotman is a jarring cacophony of experimental sounds that will leave you scratching your head in confusion.
The album opens with the dissonant screeching of strings that immediately sets the tone for what's to come. As the tracks progress, we are treated to a frenetic blend of electronic beats, wailing vocals, and unpredictable time signatures that keep the listener on their toes.
Despite the lack of conventional hooks or catchy choruses, there is a certain raw energy to the music that is undeniably captivating. The musicianship on display is truly impressive, with each member of the trio showcasing their mastery of their respective instruments.
