Album Review: Oslo Ess - Oslo Ess
In a world filled with generic, cookie-cutter bands, Oslo Ess manages to stand out like a neon green sequin at a funeral. Their self-titled album is a wild ride through the streets of Oslo, filled with frenetic energy and catchy hooks that will have you dancing like a drunken reindeer at the Christmas party.
From the opening track, "A Hundred Years From Now," with its infectious guitar riffs and shout-along chorus, to the closing track, "Alt Jeg Vet," which feels like the soundtrack to a Viking funeral, Oslo Ess delivers the goods with gusto. The band's punk-rock sensibilities are on full display, but there's also a surprising amount of depth and emotion to be found in their lyrics.
Tracks like "Karma Kommer" and "Aldri La Deg" showcase the band's ability to mix crunchy guitars with heartfelt melodies, while "Stupid" and "Lenge Leve Rock 'n' Roll" are pure adrenaline-fuelled anthems that will have you throwing up the horns and headbanging like there's no tomorrow.
Overall, Oslo Ess' self-titled album is a raucous, riotous romp through the streets of Norway's capital city. It's catchy, it's fun, and it's impossible not to smile while listening to it. So grab a pint of mead, put on your best horned helmet, and crank up the volume - Oslo Ess is here to rock your socks off. Cheers!
