*TRILLO DE ANGELIS QUARTET - Origoin* The latest offering from the Trillo De Angelis Quartet, *Origoin*, is a delightful concoction of jazz fusion and post-rock elements that will have you tapping your feet and scratching your head in equal measure. From the opening track "Funky Monks" to the closing notes of "Moonlight Serenade", the album takes you on a thrilling musical journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. Guitarist Giuseppe Trillo and saxophonist Alessio De Angelis shine brightly throughout, their virtuosic playing adding layers of complexity to each track. One particular standout is "Jazzercise", a high-energy romp that combines funky bass lines and intricate drum patterns to create a playful and infectious groove. It's the kind of song that will have you reaching for your dancing shoes before you even realize it. However, *Origoin* is not without its missteps. Tracks like "Smooth Jazz" and "Elevator Music" veer dangerously close to becoming, well, elevator music. While they showcase the Quartet's technical prowess, they lack the creativity and spark found in other parts of the album. Overall, *Origoin* is a joyous and exhilarating record that showcases the Trillo De Angelis Quartet at the top of their game.
