Our Take

Ace Frehley is back with Origins Vol. 2, and let me tell you, it's a wild ride from start to finish. The former KISS guitarist takes on classic rock hits with his own unique twist, delivering a mix of covers that will have you headbanging one minute and reaching for the air guitar the next.

From the opening track, "Good Times Bad Times" by Led Zeppelin, Frehley sets the tone for the album with his signature guitar riffs and gritty vocals. He tackles everything from The Beatles to Thin Lizzy, injecting his own brand of rock 'n' roll swagger into each song.

One of the standout tracks on the album is Frehley's cover of The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash," where he truly shines as a frontman, capturing the raw energy of the original while adding his own fiery solos.

But it's not all classic rock covers on Origins Vol. 2 – Frehley also pays tribute to his own musical influences with a heartfelt rendition of Jimi Hendrix's "Manic Depression" that will leave you in awe of his guitar skills.

Overall, Origins Vol. 2 is a must-listen for any rock 'n' roll fan looking to experience classic hits with a modern twist. Ace Frehley proves once again that he is a true rock legend, with this album solidifying his status as one of the greats.

About the artist

Ace Frehley

As we strap on our boots and head back to the glam-rock heyday of the '70s, Ace Frehley emerges as a larger-than-life figure that can't be ignored. As the original lead guitarist of KISS, Frehley's iconic "Spaceman" persona, blazing guitar solos, and catchy hooks solidified his status as a rock 'n' roll legend. Frehley's solo work after leaving KISS has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but one thing remains consistent – his undeniable talent on the six-string. Whether he's shredding on tracks like "New York Groove" or showing off his versatility with more melodic tunes like "Rocket Ride," Frehley has proven time and time again that he's a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. But it's not just Frehley's musical chops that have cemented his place in rock history – his larger-than-life personality and penchant for partying hard have also contributed to his legendary status. From wild nights on the Sunset Strip to outrageous on-stage antics, Frehley knows how to keep the rock 'n' roll spirit alive and kicking. As we look back on Frehley's career, it's clear that his impact on the music world is undeniable. Whether you're a die-hard KISS fan or just discovering his solo work for the first time, one thing's for sure – Ace Frehley is a true rock 'n' roll maverick whose influence will be felt for generations to come. Long live the Spaceman!
