Ah, the holiday season. A time for joy, love, and of course, cheesy Christmas music. Enter "Nuit De Noel," a compilation album featuring various artists trying to put their own spin on classic holiday tunes.
From the opening track, it's clear that this album is not your typical Christmas fare. The jazzy, funky rendition of "Jingle Bells" by The Yule Tide Band is a refreshing take on a tired old song. And who knew that "Silent Night" could sound so hauntingly beautiful in the hands of singer-songwriter Lucy Mistletoe?
But not every track on this album hits the mark. The overly saccharine cover of "Frosty the Snowman" by the Snowflake Sisters feels more like a cash grab than a true artistic expression. And don't even get me started on the dubstep remix of "Deck the Halls" by DJ Tinsel Toes.
