Our Take
Ah, The Stooges. The pioneers of proto-punk, the godfathers of garage rock. With their latest album, Now Playing, they prove that age is just a number when it comes to raw, unadulterated rock 'n' roll. From the opening track, "Raw Power Redux," it's clear that Iggy Pop and the gang haven't lost an ounce of their ferocity. Iggy's vocals are as snarling and confrontational as ever, cutting through the cacophony of distorted guitars and pounding drums like a chainsaw through butter. Tracks like "Lust for Life 2.0" and "Search and Destroy Again" showcase the band's ability to blend visceral energy with catchy hooks, creating a sound that is simultaneously aggressive and infectious.
