Our Take

The various artists on this special edition of Now That's What I Call Music are like a mixed bag of sweets – some sweet, some sour, and some just downright bizarre. Taking us back to the early 2000s, this compilation is a nostalgic rollercoaster of hits and misses.

From the opening track of Nelly's "Hot in Herre" to the closing number of Atomic Kitten's "The Tide is High," this album is a time capsule of pop music from a bygone era. Each song brings back memories of school discos, questionable fashion choices, and the pure joy of singing along to cheesy lyrics.

But not every song is a winner. The inclusion of DJ Sammy's cover of Bryan Adams' "Heaven" feels like a crime against music, while Liberty X's "Just a Little" sounds like it was ripped straight from a cheesy nightclub playlist.

Despite its flaws, this album is a guilty pleasure that will transport you back to a simpler time when flip phones were all the rage and cargo pants were considered fashionable. Whether you love it or hate it, Now – Millennium 2002-2003 is a reminder of the power of music to capture a moment in time, for better or for worse.
