Our Take
Depeche Mode's performance at NOS Alive Festival was a pulsating, synth-laden extravaganza that left fans reaching for their nearest can of hairspray. The British electronic legends gave a masterclass in showmanship, with frontman Dave Gahan strutting around the stage like a middle-aged peacock in leather trousers. From the moment the opening notes of "Personal Jesus" echoed out across the festival grounds, it was clear that Depeche Mode were here to party like it was 1989. Hits like "Enjoy the Silence" and "Just Can't Get Enough" had the crowd bouncing like they were on a trampoline made of Duran Duran LPs. But it wasn't all nostalgia – Depeche Mode also treated us to tracks from their latest album, proving that they can still be relevant in today's ever-changing musical landscape. "Where's the Revolution" had the crowd fist-pumping like they were at a political rally, while "Cover Me" showcased the band's ability to blend haunting melodies with thumping beats. Overall, Depeche Mode's performance at NOS Alive Festival was a tour de force of electronic wizardry and rock 'n' roll swagger. If you missed it, don't worry – just stick on "Violator" and pretend you were there.
